Motivational Book Review - "The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me... Once" 4 Stars Messages excellent, delivery somewhat lackluster This book was designed to be inspirational, composed of a series of short essays and poems. In that regard, it does hit the target, soft of. The themes are about looking on the bright side, seeing the wonder of life and always being appreciative of the routine gifts that life brings. While those themes certainly can be uplifting, the delivery did not generate a feeling of intensity. There was no "whoo hoo" moment, where I paused and vowed to look at the world in a different and more positive light. Of course the messages in the book are in the category of those we should consistently hear. The tone of messages we receive almost always leads to a feedback loop in the direction, either positive or negative, of the message. Since the messages are themselves sound, others may find the delivery method more uplifting than I did. Source: Amazon.com, Charles Ashbacher Click to see more Amazon reviews or to purchase book

Motivational Book Review - "The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me... Once" 5 Stars I use to look forward to going to sleep...now I look forward to waking up!!! I have wanted to provide my feedback on this for a while now but words just do not express the feeling I received while reading this book. I didn't want it to end. I started reading this book while going through the most difficult time of my life. This book has taught me to invest in myself and to be my own best cheerleader. Just how I encourage others, I can encourage me. I didn't realize how subconsciously I would beat myself up for different things I put myself through. I was my own worst critic. I am now learning how to forgive myself and move on faster and not dwell on the negativity. It is something I will continue to work on for the rest of my life as it is the best feeling in the world to be able to just let something go that is not deserving of my energy. I also now make "me" a priority and I promise to do at least one thing for "me" everyday. This could mean making a doctor's appointment, putting my car in the shop, calling a friend I haven't talked to in a while, going for a walk, and so on. Whatever it is, it is for me!!! This has changed my life. I would not have believed such a small thing could have made such a huge difference. I would recommend this book to any and everyone. It really hits home. It is the perfect gift. Source: Amazon.com, L. Dixon Click to see more Amazon reviews or to purchase book
